Inseparable in Love

A move toA move to a nursing home would not separate Ed Reebie, 79, and his wife Betty, 83. They both now reside at Grace Living Center Jenks and look forward to sharing yet another Valentine’s Day together in love. a nursing home would not keep 79-year-old Ed Reebie from his long-time love and wife of 43 years.

Ed was at Betty Reebie’s side every day after she moved to Grace Living Center Jenks in September 2015. Now, he too resides in the home and the two are inseparable and as in love as the day they met.

They both still laugh about how their first meeting at Trade Winds in Tulsa. They were on a double date.  Betty danced with Ed’s friend and Ed danced with hers. At some point, they switched dance partners and Ed was immediately smitten.  He asked for Betty’s number.

That was the start of a long distance relationship for the pair.  Ed lived in California and Betty in Tulsa, but they talked on the phone all of the time.  Betty even visited Ed in California on her way home from visiting family. Ed showed her around California and decided he couldn’t be parted from her again. So he popped the question.  They married just days later in Las Vegas.

This year, they will celebrate another Valentine’s Day as sweethearts. What is their winning formula for a love that stands the test of time?

“Sharing love and laughter with one another,” Ed said.
